Your stop does not fill at its price when data drops. This tells you what you really lose, and what to do.

Where these numbers come from

The stop multiplier is our estimate, not a measurement: deriving it from the real range of each release candle is still pending. The size cut is not measurable by definition — it is a judgement about how much caution to apply, not a market fact. Spread and slippage are yours to enter, because they depend on your broker and we do not store them.

Frequently asked questions

1

Why does my real risk exceed what I planned?

Because position sizing assumes the stop fills at its price, and during a high-impact release it does not: the spread widens and slippage hits, so you exit further out than planned. That excess is exactly what this tool computes.

2

What is the effective stop?

The distance you actually exit at, not the one you set. It takes the worse of two estimates: your stop times the event profile, or your stop plus the spread expansion plus slippage. The two are not added because they overlap.

3

Where do the listed events come from?

The real economic calendar for the current week, filtered to medium and high impact and to both currencies of the pair you pick. It is not a fixed list of famous releases — it is what is actually coming.

4

Why only this week?

Because that is all the calendar stores. The list refreshes every Monday; it is not a bug if few or no events remain late in the week.

5

Why do I have to enter the spread and slippage?

Because they depend on your broker and account, and they are not data we store. You will find them in your platform's symbol specification; for the news spread, look at what the last comparable release did.

6

Is the multiplier measured?

Not yet — it is our estimate per event type. The size cut, by contrast, is not measurable by definition: it is a judgement about how much caution to apply, not a market fact. The page keeps the two apart.
