Frequently asked questions
1How are the TPs at 1R, 2R and 3R calculated?
One R is the distance between your entry and your stop. TP1 adds that distance once, TP2 twice and TP3 three times, in the trade direction. So hitting TP2 pays twice what you risked.
2Do I enter the stop by price or by pips?
Whichever you prefer: there is a Price | Pips toggle and the other value is worked out for you. By price you set the level you see on the chart; by pips, the distance to the stop, where the sign sets the direction: negative = below the entry (buy), positive = above (sell). Either way we derive the pips, the percentage move, the risk in USD and the position size in lots.
3How does it know if it is a buy or a sell?
From where the stop sits relative to the entry: below it is a buy and the TPs sit above; above it is a sell and the TPs sit below. The direction is detected automatically, whether you enter the stop by price or by pips.
4How does it size the position?
It risks the percentage of your balance you enter. Using the stop distance in pips and the pair’s pip value, it sizes the lots so that if the stop is hit you lose exactly that amount.
5Do I have to take all three take-profits?
No. The 1R, 2R and 3R levels are references for planning; many traders close part at TP1 and move the stop to break-even. The tool gives you the prices; the management is yours.
