Frequently asked questions
1What does the FOTSI measure?
The relative strength of each of the 8 major currencies, computed with the True Strength Index against the other seven: 28 crosses derived from 7 quotes. Unlike the MRS or FSI it does not give a single number — it ranks the currencies strongest to weakest.
2How do I read it?
Each currency has a bar that diverges from the zero line: right if strong, left if weak. ±50 marks extreme zones and a zero-line cross signals a momentum shift. The suggested pair puts the strongest against the weakest.
3How often does the ranking change?
The FOTSI is computed on one-minute (M1) bars from our own feed, so the ranking is recalculated every minute and the leader can change several times within a single session. The header label shows the active timeframe: M1 when our own data is available, and D1 if the computation falls back to daily data. The leader’s history is shown over 30 days because that series is resampled to daily closes.
4What is the suggested pair for?
It is the tradable pair between the strongest and weakest currency, with the direction that favors the strong one. A starting point for analysis, not an entry signal.
5Is it a trading recommendation?
No. It is an informational and educational tool about relative currency strength, not a signal or financial advice.
